Okay so I am pretty sure most or all of you know what Friends is. Friends was taken off of air a few years ago, but I am going to talk about what made it such a successful show.
So first of all there were 6 main characters. The names of the characters were as follows: Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Pheobe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing and Dr. Ross Geller. In every episode they would start off with the resolution of a problem. They would then solve it and create another problem. The characters in this show were played to be funny, and Pheobe, she is absolutely hilarious, it's like she is always joking around. Then Rachel and Monica are the more serious females in this show. They are always in this serious mood. The males of the show are portayed as being laid back , except Ross, he is always up tight and it is absolutely hilarious.
It was so successful because it was entertaining to watch these 6 characters fight, love, and cause problems between each other. It was a comedy and it had the right set up to work.
If anyone else wants to elborate on this please do. I will elborate on this more next time.

Everybody loves Raymond, but do they really?
Everybody loves Raymond, but do they really? I believe not. It is the T.V. show that they love. Not Raymond, perhaps his character, but not the actual actor himself.
Why is this? It's because it is comedy, something that makes us happy and makes us laugh. Something we can look at and say " Hey, thats funny!" It is a type of entertainment, in other words something that entertains us.
So why don't we love the actor? We don't necessarily "love" the actor because he is not like that in real life. He is like that in the T.V. show.
So why do we "love" Raymond? We "love" raymond because he is a hilarious character. He has a wife and kids, and a brother, a mother and a father. All of which are the main characters. He makes us laugh.
So, therefore we buy into the T.V. show name, we think we "love" Raymond, when in reality, he is only a character being portrayed. So indeed we do not love Raymond, we love his character.

Whose Line is it anyway? Who came up with the name for this show?!
Okay so I was watching Whose Line Is It Anyway the other night. For you people who don't know what this show is, it is Drew Carey directing around four other men. They are given a topic and they have to make a scene from it.
So anyways when I was watching this the men came across a musical. They asked the audience for a place where the musical could take place. Someone called out vetranarian office. So... They did a musical in a vet office. It wasn't funny. It was more dumb. My boyfriend and his brother laughed at it.
What is so funny about someone singing a musical? Since when is it funny? I am not sexist, but where do men stop? What makes things so funny? Are us women always so serious? I am told to loosen up, but I figure I am not always serious, but I am being told completely different.
I find men take things and make fun of them. Most bullies are men.
And now that I'm rambling I shall shut up. But what I can't figure out is, why they find some things so funny.
Someone...Please tell me!

What does the Simpsons and Family Guy have in common?
What is the common factor in both of these T.V. shows? THE MAIN CHARACTER AND STORYLINE! Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin are two characters that are almost exactly alike. Peter and Homer both go to the bar with friends, although Homer's friend Moe owns the bar, that is one variation. Peter and Homer both get drunk and are fat stupid slobs that we continue to laugh at. Marge and Lois are both stay at home moms that want to break out and do something better than they are doing now. They are both horribly embarassed of their husbands. Marge has a young daughter named Maggie who is like Marge and just doesn't listen to Homer. Lois has a young son named Stewie. In most episodes he is trying to kill his mother. The rest of the chararcters such as Bart and Lisa and Meg and Chris, are all different characters. They all are very different.
Does the creator of Family Guy know that his main characters are EXTREMELY alike to the Simpsons characters?
Does the creator of The Simpsons know someone is copying most of his ideas?
